What is Botox?
Botulinum Toxin or Botox is a purified protein derived from the Clostridium Botulinum Bacterium. Botox works by blocking nerve transmission to temporarily relax and reduce the contractions of the facial muscles that cause wrinkles.

The Botulinum Toxin or Botox injection procedure

The entire injection procedure takes approximately 10 minutes and does not require anesthesia. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief.
After the Botox injection
You should notice an improvement in your frown lines within 3 to 7 days, the effects of which can last up to 4 months. However, results may vary.
After a period of time, your frown lines will begin to reappear as the effects of botox wear off.

What are the risks of Botox?

Like normal injection, minimal swelling, redness is generally disappear within 20 minutes. Bruising is very unlikely and normally disappears within a week. You may experience mild headache which last only a day. A period of 4 hours after the treatment you must avoid massage the treated area to prevent Botox spreading to and work on the muscle nearby which the effect may last about 2 weeks. However, this is rarely happen.
How often can Botulinum Toxin or Botox injections be given?
You can receive botox injections every 4-6 months.
With repeated treatments, thinning of the muscles occurs, which produces longer lasting results.
